Rory Jerome "RJ" Callahan
Rory Jerome "RJ" Callahan 65, of Overton, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the Kearney Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on November 25, 1959, in Lexington, Nebraska, to Jerome and Betty (Garrett) Callahan. RJ attended public school in Lexington and would later on receive his GED. He was an incredibly hard worker at a young age. He worked for various over the road trucking companies for several years as well as working at Tyson before going on to dedicate the rest of his career at Overton Sand & Gravel before his retirement in 2022. On January 12, 1980, RJ was united in marriage to Cindy Skovbo in Ansley, Nebraska. Four children were blessed to this union: Josh, Laurie, JD, and Shannon. 
RJ enjoyed the simple things in life. He liked to spend his days outdoors, fishing and camping with his friends and family and always enjoyed a nice cold beer. He was an avid collector of items he could work on and fix and never missed an opportunity to go out on a long drive to relax. Family was a large part of RJ's life, and he spent as much time as he could with his grandchildren who were his world.
Those left to honor his memory are his children, Josh (Sarah) Callahan of Omaha, Laurie (Brandon) Buhlke of Grand Island, JD (Madison) Callahan of Suffolk, Virginia, and Shannon (Mitchell) Bidwell of Lexington, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Oliver Callahan (8), Stella Callahan(6), Eliana Callahan (4), Camilla Callahan (4), Braelyn Buhlke (4), Gabriella Callahan (2), and Stetson Bidwell (2mos); his grandpup, Dexter; siblings, Rhonda Smith of Grand Island, Sheila (Marlon) Grayer of Cleveland, Ohio, Kelly (Stan) Caras of Lexington, Kristy (Ron) Harty of Oakville, Missouri, Curtis Callahan of Hudson, Colorado, and Misty (Lyle) Timmens of Minatare, Nebraska; sister-in-law Cynthia Callahan, and brother-in-law, Randy (Minnie) Skovbo; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
RJ was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cindy Callahan; parents, Jerome Callahan, and Betty (Moses) Ceballos; brother, Bill Callahan; his in-laws, Moira and Jens Skovbo; sister-in-law, Sharon Straight; and nephew, Clinton Straight.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the Overton Christian Church in Overton with Pastor Will Thompson officiating. The funeral will be live-streamed via the Reynolds- Love Funeral Home Facebook Page.
Burial will be held at the Overton Cemetery in Overton following the service.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington, with family receiving guests from 5-7 p.m.

Janice Hagan
Janice Marie Hagan, 83, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at the Lexington Regional Health Center.
She was born on November 2, 1941, in Kearney, Nebraska, to James A. and Edna L. (Lammers) Williams. Janice and her family moved to Lexington when she was 12, where she later attended Lexington High School. She would go on to receive her GED. On February 25, 1958, Janice was united in marriage to the love of her life, Robert J. Hagan in Elwood, Nebraska. Five children were blessed to this union: Arelda, Kevin, Jim, Robert, Jr., and Timothy. 
Janice and her family lived in various places over the years while Robert was proudly serving his country, later settling back in Lexington after his retirement. She worked for over 20 years at Plum Creek Care Center and Park Avenue Estates in the cooking department. Janice loved cooking delicious meals for her family and spending quality time with her grandchildren. She was their biggest fan, following all of the activities they participated in. She was very gifted when it came to crafts and would crochet intricate blankets and doll dresses for her family.
Those left to celebrate her life is her loving husband, Robert Hagan of Lexington; Arelda (Alan) Stuehm of Kearney, Kevin (Julie) Hagan of Eddyville, and Jim (Barb) Hagan of Eddyville; brother, Roy Williams of Gilcrest, Colorado; grandchildren, Seth (Terra) Gates, Jane (Jake) Wolsleben, Robert (Courtney) Hagan, Jake (Alyssa) Hagan, Chris (Catherine) Colindres, Eric (Julie) Stuehm, and Evan (Richelle) Stuehm; nineteen great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Besides her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her two sons, Robert John Hagan, Jr., and Timothy L. Hagan.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with Lay Minister Sarah Neben, officiating.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Lexington.

Margo McCance
Margo K. McCance, 74, of Lexington, Nebraska passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at the Lexington Regional Health Center surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on November 24, 1948 in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Karl J. and Frieda R. (Shanholtz) Keesecker. Margo attended school in Cozad and earned her GED in Lexington. 
Margo lived the majority of her life in the Lexington/Cozad area where she kept busy raising her children and working. Margo worked in the kitchen at the Cozad Care Center before she spent almost twenty-five years working at Monroe Automotive in Cozad. She also worked in Lexington at Del’s Country Store working the night shift with her son, Mike. Margo then worked at Plum Creek Care Center in Lexington before retiring and taking care of her grandson, Kaleb.
Margo was a faithful member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Lexington. She was part of a Pro-Life Group in Lexington where they did lots of crocheting which she thoroughly enjoyed. She also always looked forward to the “Not so young Adults” church group where they would get together for barbeques. Margo loved spending time with her family, making Latch Hook Rugs, and playing board games with children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Lori (Steve) Erickson of Grand Island, Mike McCance of Lexington and Tammy (Ricky) Wescott of Kearney; six grandchildren, Julie Encinger, Nicholas Morse, Kevin McCance, Christian (Jessica) McCance, Holly Cook and Kaleb McCance; two great-grandchildren, Ayden Encinger and Lillie Encinger; her sisters, Karla (Larry) Eggin of Gering and Toni McGrath of Gering and a brother, Tim (Theresa) Keesecker of Lincoln; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Besides her parents, Margo was preceded in death by her son, David and granddaughter, Crystal Crowe.
A Celebration Of Life Service will be held Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Calvary Assembly of God Church with Pastor Rex Adams, officiating.
There will be no visitation, as the family is honoring Margo’s wish for cremation.
A memorial has been established in Margo’s honor, and kindly suggested to the Calvary Assembly of God Church or the Pro-Life Group in Lexington.

Jesse Rios
Jesse Rios, 68 Years, of Gothenburg, died July 4, 2024 at his home in Gothenburg.
He was born August 31, 1955 in Georgetown, TX, son of Julian and Consuello (Escobar) Rios.
Jesse was one of 14 children and lived in Texas and Nebraska growing up. He met Karla Bice in 1978 at a graduation party and they married in 1979 in Lexington, Nebraska. To this union two children were born, Zachary in February 1983 and Vanessa on her dad's birthday August 31, 1984. He received his GED in Lexington in 1983. They lived in Lexington until 1984 when they moved to Colorado after Vanessa was born. The kids were raised in the Denver metro area until they moved back to Gothenburg in 2001. 
Jesse helped with Boy Scouts and helped coach both soccer and basketball for Zac and Vanessa. He enjoyed golf until he injured his hand in a work accident while working at the City of Lexington. Jesse also worked at the Darr Packing Plant and Cornland Dressed Beef before he was hired at Dawson County Roads Department and learned to operate heavy equipment. In Colorado, he worked at a wholesale pharmaceutical company where he had the opportunity to receive tickets to many Denver Nuggets basketball games. He also worked at Anheuser Busch before settling in at the City of Greenwood Village to drive heavy equipment again. He returned his family to Gothenburg and worked at Lincoln County Roads in 2001. He started working at the City of Lexington in 2005. He continued driving heavy equipment and was responsible for maintenance and supervising the city cemeteries. Jesse was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2021and was treated until December 2023 when he retired from the city.
Jesse LOVED watching his granddaughters grow and participate in ALL activities and sports. He spent many weekends attending their events and games in the same manner he did with Zac and Vanessa. Jesse loved sports, and anything related to the Nebraska Cornhuskers-except baseball and said many times he'd rather watch golf than baseball! Jesse always had a smile on his face (which sometimes got him in trouble)! He loved to tease his family and children.
Survivors include wife, Karla Sue Rios of Gothenburg; daughter, Vanessa Holbein of Gothenburg; three granddaughters, Taysia Holbein, Audrey Holbein and Charisma Lenz; four brothers, Raymond Rios of Wahoo, Joe (Herminia) Rios of Kearney, Julian Jr. Rios of Fremont, and Gabriel Rios of Kearney; seven sisters, Herlinda "Linda" Reyes of Ft. Collins, CO; Guadalupe "Lupe" (Don) Jones of West Palm Beach, FL; Irene (Richard) Kacprzicki of Pensacola, FL; Mercedes "Mercy" (Refugio) Bueno of Lexington, Margarita "Margie" (Larry) Cain of Texarkana, TX; and Maria Rios of Lexington; sisters-in-law Maryann Rios of Prague and Cindy Soller of Gothenburg; three brothers-in-law David Bice of Eustis, Kevin (Patty) Bice of Broomfield, CO; and Ron (Zeth) Bice of Tampa, FL; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Consuello, son, Zachary, in-laws, Ron and Viola Bice, brothers, Paul and Fred, sister-in-law, Adella Rios, nephews, Gauge Soller, Damon Rios, Doug Cross, Robbie Rios, Seth Alvardo, Julian Paul Rios and Mathew Pano and niece, Carol Alvarado.
A memorial service will be held at the Crossing Fellowship on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 2:30 PM.
