Lois Anthony
Lois Wells Anthony, 93 of Lexington passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Plum Creek Health Care Community in Lexington.
Lois was born February 22, 1925 on the family farm on the north side of the Lincoln Highway, northwest of Lexington to Vernon J. and Florence (DeLap) Wells. She joined a brother Stanley Wells. 
Lois obeyed the Lord’s command and was immersed into Christ at the age of ten at the Cozad Church Of Christ.
Lois attended school at District North 22 through the fourth grade and then District North 16 through the 8th grade. She graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1941. She was enrolled in L.H.S. normal teaching training and started teaching in 1941. She taught for six years, each summer she attended Kearney State Teachers College.
On September 1, 1945 she was united in marriage to Francis John Anthony in Grant, Nebraska. Two sons were blessed to this marriage, Clifford and Russell. Francis preceded her in death on January 10, 2008.
Lois was a member of the Church of Christ in Cozad. She was a former Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, served on the election board and was a member of the knitting club. She loved spending time with her family and attending aqua fitness sessions.
Survivors include her two sons: Clifford and wife Deb of Lexington and Russell and wife Pam of Wellington, Colorado. Four grandchildren: Sandra (Andrew) Wang of Kearney, Kelly (Benjamin) Kinnison of Kearney, John (Bianca) Anthony of Wellington, CO. and Darcy Anthony of Wellington, CO., six great-grandchildren: Evan, Isabella, Taylor, Barrett, Myles and Adelynn.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Johnny and one brother Stanley Wells.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at the Cozad Church Of Christ with Pastor James McCrickard, officiating.
The casket will be open prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be at the Hewitt Cemetery in rural Lexington.
Memorials are suggested to the Lexington Volunteer Fire Department.

Marvin Bogner
Marvin A. Bogner, 88, of Kearney, Nebraska, formerly of Lexington, Nebraska, died Friday June 3, 2011, at Grand Island Veterans Home in Grand Island, Nebraska.
He was born December 2, 1922, in Central City, Nebraska, to Emil and Marie (Schinstock) Bogner. At 5 years old the family moved to Lexington. Marvin graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1941.
On January 4, 1944, he joined the United States Army, serving in World War II and the European Theater operation. He was honorably discharged on April 22, 1946.
On April 7, 1947, in a double wedding ceremony with his sister Joan and Emmett Dustin, he married Winona Forster in Lexington, Nebraska. The couple was blessed with two sons, James and Marlin, and one daughter Kristie.
The family made their home in Lexington where Marvin was an auto parts salesman for Midway Supply for nearly 40 years. They moved to Kearney in 2000. Marvin enjoyed being with his family and friends and was an avid golfer. He was a member of the Overton Golf course and after moving to Kearney a member of Buffalo Ridge Golf Course. He was also a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Lexington and later St. James Catholic Church in Kearney, Knights of Columbus, VFW, American Legion, and the Elks Club.
Survivors include his wife of over 60 years, Winona. Sons: James and wife Jeanne Bogner of Kearney, Ne., Marlin and wife Lori Bogner of Kearney, NE Daughter: Kristie Bogner of Lincoln, NE; Sister: Joan Dustin of Lincoln, Ne; Grandchildren: Joni and husband John Fleck, Jeff Bogner and special friend Rene Jones, Cindy and husband Brock Rowatt, Dave Bogner, and Lee and wife Amber Foster. Along with seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at 10:30 a.m., at St. James Catholic Church in Kearney, Ne, with Father Joseph Hannappel, officiating. Burial with military honors will be at 2:30 p.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery in Lexington, Nebraska. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 7, 2011 from 6-7 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Kearney, Nebraska with Rosary and Wake service at 7 p.m. Memorials are kindly suggested to Tabitha Hospice or America Alzheimer's Association. Darlene Buchholz
Darlene Marie Buchholz, 90, of Lexington, died Saturday morning, Aug. 24, 2013, at Tabitha Greenhouse Care Facility in Lincoln after a courageous battle with congestive heart disease.
Graveside Services will be on Wednesday, Aug.28, 2013, at 9 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington with the Reverend Caroline Vickery officiating
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
Darlene was born March 4, 1923 to Marie (Meyer) and Charles Clifford Ward in Gosper County. She was an only child who took pleasure in doing the farm chores with her family. She especially loved taking care of the animals and feeding the chickens was her favorite task. After her morning chores, she enjoyed riding her black pony to the local country schools, eventually graduating from Lexington High School.
Shortly after graduation, she accepted a job that took her from the farmlands of Nebraska to the city life in California. She met and married her first husband, James Roberts, who was a member of the Armed Forces and after a few short years of marriage he passed away from cancer. She was then united in marriage to Howard Glenn Buchholz and they were blessed with two sons, Charles in 1950 and David in 1955. Family was always important to Darlene and she consistently strived to help others in many different ways. She eventually assisted her aging parents by providing home care and helped manage the family farm.
She was always looking for ways to help people and enjoyed her time working at the Grand Generation Center and the Green Thumb program in Lexington. She was an active member in the local VFW and received an award from them in 2012. After moving to Lincoln, Darlene took time for many hobbies and activities. If she wasn't doing her word-find puzzles, you could find her coloring or painting items to give her friends and family. Her love of animals was always present. She enjoyed watching the birds in the trees outside her window and playing with her family dogs.
Darlene is survived by her two sons, Chuck of Lincoln and David of Cozad, along with her grandchildren, Amanda and Philip with wife Jessica and Krista and Jacob.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cliff and Marie; first husband, Jim and second husband, Howard Glenn 'Buck.'

Marylyn (Lindy) Curtis, 82, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, at her home in Leisure World at Mesa, Ariz., just 25 days after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. A service celebrating Lindy's life was held on Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, at Broadway Christian Church in Mesa, Ariz., officiated by Pastor John Enabnit and Pastor Richard Abbott. Burial was Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, in Mountainview Memorial Gardens at Mesa. Mountainview Memorial Gardens of Mesa was in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years; three daughters, Christy (Richard) Abbott of Cedarege, Colo., Connie (Steve) Casey of Glenwood Springs, Colo., Cara Lee (Bob) Berg of Gilbert, Ariz.; one son, Jeff Curtis of Mesa.; one sister, Van (Bill) Kloepping of Lexington, their son and three daughters and families; and eight grandchildren, Aaron (Hayley) Abbott, Becca (Brian) Kuster, Jordan Lyn Abbott, McKenna and Kellin Casey and Jason, Jenna Lee and Jessica Berg. She was preceded in death by a son, Joel Reed; her parents; her sister, Evelyn; and her brother-in-law, Harold Fagot. Lindy was born July 19, 1924, near Holdrege to John and Tillie Lindblade, the youngest of three sisters. She graduated from Lexington High School in 1941, and attended the University of Nebraska. She studied journalism and worked as a secretary in Lincoln, Dallas and Denver. She was also a United Airlines passenger agent for a few years through the late 1940s and 1950s. Lindy worked as a contract model for the Alexander Film Company in Colorado Springs.
On Sept. 1, 1949, she married Gene Curtis of Denver on the Bride and Groom radio program in Hollywood. The couple moved to Glenwood Springs, Colo., where Lindy was a member of the Art Guild. She and her husband were blessed with three daughters and a son.
Throughout her life she continued to model, teach young aspiring models and narrate fashion shows. For six years, she taught a Christian youth education program from her home, which she called Junior B.A.S.I.C. School (Brothers and Sisters in Christ).
Lindy was a published author and a poet writing children's stories songs, and in 1994 her 96-page poetry book was published and copies are now all over the world. She was a frequent contributor to the Christian Communicator magazine and wrote a number of articles that appeared in Forel Times, The Glenwood Post, Leisure World News and a number of other magazines, periodicals and newspapers. Lindy and Gene moved to Mesa 22 years ago where Lindy became involved in serving at Broadway Christian Church, had a nursing home ministry, and was a member and leader of Hope Fellowship in Leisure World. She also worked for the recreation department of Leisure World. Donations may be sent to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E.
