RATHKE, Douglas Neben, 56, of Tampa, died suddenly during a biking accident October 18, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents, Christian and Sophia Rathke; sister, Marilyn, and her husband, Skylar.

Doug was an avid cyclist, photographer and nature enthusiast who never lost his passion for leaning more about our world. He passed on his love of life and intellectual curiosity to all around him. Doug was loved by everyone and a friend to all. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Doug leaves to cherish his memory, brother, Richard Rathke of Jupiter, Fla.; sisters, Pat (Ed) Loren of Branson, Mo., and Sheryl Rathke of Chevy Chase, Md.; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Denny Kantak.

A visitation will be conducted 1-3 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2006, in the Adams ' Jennings Chapel with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, a contribution in Doug's memory, to a charity of choice, would be appreciated.
